Mark your calendars folks, that time of year again is coming once again- yes you guessed correctly ! Day of Dialogue is going to be held on October 23rd, 2013 (Wednesday) from 9am-8pm.
For those of you who are new to Hofstra you may be wondering, what is Day of Dialogue?
Well my friends, Day of Dialogue is a one-day Hofstra student conference which explores current social and political issues through debate and dialogue (held every Fall semester).
Ok, so I know what it is, but WHY should I attend?
This is a great way for the Hofstra student body to get involved and learn about new and pertaining issues. Some events are in a lecture format, some events are a round table discussion with just students , some events are movies and for some events we have these great speakers coming to speak to YOU! I know, its exciting stuff. You should definitely attend this year. Our theme for this year is Reflection and Engagement for a Changing World
What are some past events that have been held?
Previous events have been about student’s rights, America’s military budget, Drug wars, the future of Health Care in America: A Hofstra Student Debate, World’s Children in Crisis..and many many more events. This year marks our 11th Day of Dialogue. We’ve had 11 so far, so it must be pretty good for it to be a consistent conference.
