Kristen Misak

Kristen Misak is a senior student from New Jersey studying both marketing and civic engagement. In addition to being a CCE Fellow, Kristen has served as an intern with the CCE for a year, working with the Uniondale Chamber of Commerce. She is also a Pride Guide on campus, as well as a teacher in the Money and Me Program, in which she teaches fourth graders at underserved elementary schools about financial literacy. She plans to continue pursuing her MBA after graduation and eventually work in corporate social responsibility and/or consulting.


Fatimah Mozawalla

Fatimah Mozawalla is a second year student in the Hofstra 4+4 BS/BA-MD program. She is majoring in pre-health with a concentration in global studies and a minor in biochemistry. She is vice president of the Hofstra Muslim Student Association, a member of the women’s division I cross country team, the pre-medical fraternity (Phi Delta Epsilon), habitat for humanity, and the Pre-health scholars.


Joandalys Tejada

Joandalys is a senior at Hofstra and she is from Manhattan. She is majoring in Health Science and a minor in Community Health. She is the president of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. and a member of the Minority Association for Pre-Health Scholars. She plans to pursue a Master’s of Public Health in community health education. She is passionate about helping others and has been an intern at Nassau University Medical Center and Northwell Health.


Bahati Louis

Bahati Louis is a junior at Hofstra University who majors in political science and minors in civic engagement. She is the Policy Director of the Roosevelt Institute. a member of Collegiate Women of Color, and recently became a Fellow for the Center of Civic Engagement.


Muthoni Mahachi

Muthoni Mahachi is a senior Biochemistry major from Zimbabwe with a minor in Fine Arts. She is also a member and one of the founders of Hofstra’s Amnesty International Chapter. She was one of the first students to pilot Hofstra’s peer mentor program, as a global mentor to incoming international students. This is her first semester as a fellow and she is very passionate about getting involved more within the local community.


Kelly Mizuno

Kelly Mizuno is a junior Political Science major from Malaysia with minors in Marketing, Economics and Civic Engagement. She has experience being an orientation leader, resident assistant, member of the Student Government Assosication, and Pride Guide here at Hofstra, and has experience interning with an international NGO/non-profit organization. Her focus is on human rights, international economic development and universal education.


Tara Egan

Tara Egan is a junior from Wappingers Falls, New York. She is a Public Relations major and attempting to double minor in Journalism and Civic Engagement. She is on the Creative Genius e-board as the social media manager and assists with any other PR related tasks. This is her first semester as a CCE fellow, but she is looking forward to working with the community partners and the other fellows.


Casey Lamkin

Casey is a junior Public Relations major with a double minor in Political Science and Creative Writing from Silver Spring, MD. She is a staff writer for the Hofstra Chronicle, Founder & President of Hofstra Club Swim, Secretary and member of PRSSA, a First Year Connections Student Guide, and Alumni Relations chair/member of Alpha Phi Theta Mu.


Adam Gustafson

Adam Gustafson is a sophomore double major in English (creative writing) and Film Studies and Production with a minor in music. He is one of the heads of pre-production with Hofstra Filmmakers’ Club and is involved with the HEAT Network, The Pride Network, MEISA, and the Hofstra English Society. He is a first year fellow and is from Manchester, New Hampshire.


Pakelody Cheam

Pakelody is a junior, double majoring in Public Relations and Sustainability Studies. She’s the Press & Publicity intern for the Smithsonian Channel, Events chair of Zeta Phi Eta, Director of Development of PRSSA and a second semester fellow for the CCE. She’s focused on building a bridge between sustainability issues (both social and environmental) and communications in order to advocate for a better world.


Alison Krowiak

Alison is a senior Psychology student with minors in Civic Engagement and Business at Hofstra. This is her second semester as a CCE Fellow and she is looking forward to working with the rest of the CCE team and its community partners to make this a great semester. Her focus is on operations and management within nonprofits and her interests include social justice, human services, and community development.


CJ Burka

CJ Burka is a senior undergrad working towards a triple major in Geography, Global Studies and Political Science, with concentration in Comparative Politics. As a returning Fellow, she looks forward to continuing her work with various community partners and the many on campus events run through CCE. She is a Global Mentor, a part of Hofstra’s PRISM Mentor Program working with International Students as well as president of Get Global.


Natasha Rappazzo

Natasha Rappazzo is a junior from Frisco, Texas. She is majoring in Political Science and History with minors in Global Studies and Sustainability Studies. This is her second year as a fellow. Natasha is the Program Coordinator for the Long Island Alliance for Peaceful Alternatives, the President of Campus Feminist Collective, and the President of Hofstra Historians. She is also an intern with CODEPINK: Women for Peace and a former Leadership Fellow for Battle Ground Texas.
